Honorary Unicorn – Melissa McCarthy

The Pretty Precious Unicorns declare Melissa McCarthy an honorary Unicorn. A Unicorn, besides being pretty and precious, “is somebody who knows they’re magical and isn’t afraid to show it.” That last part was said by Britt on Glee – so, it must be true. Melissa McCarthy, we salute you! Thank you for never holding back the funnies and always going balls to the wall!

Where Did Cass Go?!

Thanks to all that came to the MOCA show and made it a huge success! There was this funny part early in the evening where Cass leaves her hosting duties to go home for some meatloaf. Everyone in the audience had a good laugh as she waved goodbye and took her bags. Everyone thought she was coming back and that this was just part of the skit. But she didn’t.

Here’s why… Cass played by the super-talented Jackie Chung, had to run to a show that she’s in. She did double duty that night and wanted to greet everyone at MOCA but had to also make call time for her show. You can see her in After., a new play by Chad Beckim (also super-talented) and featuring a super-talented cast that includes Alfredo Narciso and Debargo Sanyal. So, make sure you catch them before they close on October 8th. (And yes, today’s word of the day is super-talented.)

After.
A new play by Chad Beckim.

Good Times

It’s a big day for The Pretty Precious Unicorns. Missy, Effy and Cass are hosting MOCA’s Growing Pains: An Evening with Smart & Funny Ladies event tonight. Not only that, we’re showing a sneak peek of our trailer plus two episodes!

The response for this event has been incredible. Over 273 RSVPs! Full house and then some. The lineup is fantastic and there are free treats! Nom Wah, Wooly’s Ice (congrats on their recent Vendy), and Benchmarc are providing dim sum, shaved iced and wine. This is a Target Free Thursday event and the first collaboration between MOCA, Ma-Yi Theater Company and Second Generation Productions.

Plus, we’ll be partying our horns off at Sweet & Vicious immediately after. What else can a Unicorn hope for?
